adminKeymasterWhile I appreciate that you took all the time to write this up, I think converting the Joomla-based installation, the forum and JDownloads to JSON data is a total overkill for the community of an old game with not that many active users.
The whole website including databases is mirrored every day on a special backup machine. It has saved my ass countless times. In case of failure, I also store weekly backups on another drive. Your examples all looked like no backups had been made beforehand, so a data loss was fatal in the end.
A GIT-based website is fine on projects like this, but I hesitate against implementing this here.
BTW, the sources and prerequisites for running the gameservers with wine are documented in these places:

adminKeymasterOMG. I hope they restore the old feeling. That stock flat design is terrible.
Thanks for the update, though! 🙂

adminKeymasterJust to give you an impression on how nice this is.
It’s a 4-parter with a lot of graphics. Sadly, I can’t just put it on here in readable condition right now.
But I will ask them for permission for that. 🙂

adminKeymasterThank you very much for this. 🙂
I was a bit lazy, but I’ve finally added it to the download section:https://www.i-war2.com/downloads/download/29-controller-profiles/419-saitek-x55
Also added a different Saitek X52 profile a user has sent me a few months ago via mail:

adminKeymasterAlright, it looks like your opinions are very well aligned! 😉
I’ll keep the current design and will only make some small technical adjustments to get future versions of the forum software running.
Because currently it looks like this:
The comments system has already been replaced and as a result, the number of comments even shows up in the download section now. Hooray!
You’ve lost all your comment thread subscriptions, though.

adminKeymasterI’ve stopped playing for a while now, because I sold my old Tower PC (was way too expensive regarding power) and now I don’t have a Gameport for my Sidewinder FF Pro on my netbook.
Before I can seriously start playing again, I need to solder myself an adapter. I’m starting to miss the game already… 🙁
