It is a pity that you do not want to collect everything in one place.
I do want to collect everything that I can find. But if you look into the forums, you can find this section:

Torn Stars – The new name for Epic: Middle States

I’m pretty sure, Soup named it like this because Torn Stars is the latest version of Epic: Middle States. They have their own website, there is no need to copy everything from them:

    http://www.torn-stars.com

I thought, “Epic: Middle States” was the old name for “Torn Stars”. I won’t add Torn Stars on this website, as they have their own for it, with mods, documents and other stuff.

I’ll only add Torn Stars if that website goes down one day, so nothing will be lost.

Well, it looks like I have most of the stuff now. Manuals are there, an online manual for I-War 1 is at dreadnt.com which is linked and I even got the keybinder 🙂

The only thing missing are goodies. Demos, Movies…and of course, the one I-War mission…but I doubt it will ever come up.

Wow. Reading through all of your ideas makes me want to play this game for the rest of my life! I really hope that you will finish it. It sounds almost impossible for a single person.

I actually removed the typo from your thread. Nobody ever saw it!

I wonder what would have happened if you’ve worked for Particle Systems back in the day! 😉

Being unable to enter ships or look around in the cockpit is a thing I miss, too. In Diaspora, you can look around in your cockpit and you are even able to land on the Battlestars. You can’t enter them directly, but it’s a huge step forward.
Landing on a planet and running around on it would certainly be the killer feature.

There are techniques to generate these. For example, the game “Rigs of Rods” uses tools to generate landscapes and vegetation randomly, even water with a toolkit called “Hydrax”. And I’ve seen this a while back:

    http://boxcar2d.com/

It generates cars with some algorithms and evolves them. This thing adapted to space ships could make a new I-War really unique! 🙂 I wonder if it will ever happen, though. It’s been a long time…

    Wow, that’s…impressive!

I’m not such a big gamer. Most of the time I do web-related stuff on my computer. And I’m a big TV series addict.

However, I do play some old classics regularly. I’m fairly good at “No One Lives Forever” Multiplayer and I’m also playing “Blood 2” sometimes.

One of my favorite games is TRON 2.0, where you play as a program inside of a computer – I can really identify with that geeky plot.

I played I-War 2 as a kid with a horrible joystick that even broke after some sounds. Recently I acquired a SideWinder and that got me back into the space simulators.

I just found Diaspora by accident when I searched for the TV show on Google. Some weeks ago I installed Freespace but when I saw that I had to edit a big bunch of INI files just to get widescreen, I didn’t want to play it anymore.

I’m also a casual racing gamer…SEGA All Stars Racing, Blur, Need for Speed, Split/Second…all the fun stuff. But not regularly.

I never played Roller Coaster Tycoon like you, but Zoo Tycoon is pretty awesome. They have raptors! 😀

A good choice – Firefly is awesome! 🙂

A happy new year to you all! Now we have 2015 and I’m still playing. Although flying to the mission points really takes a while, even with the Autopilot. I’m playing the game in small doses, that works best for me.

I did some major database brainstorming and fixed all old forum posts.

You should be able to read all old posts without whacky code stuff in them. Pictures (if still available), links, quotes and text formatting in them should work again, too.

If you find a weird post or thread, let me know 🙂

Damn, I thought I have everything on this website now. Guess I didn’t look hard enough 🙂

I will add a link soon and mirror the missing content.

I actually crawled the old website with a script. I looks like the script didn’t like the link. But the Trading Post Website has been mirrored here:

    http://www.i-war2.com/oldmainpage/wetwired/

I will fix the link on the old website later.

Edit: Everything done! Thanks for the input 🙂
