I finally found the time to do this – I’ve contacted GOG about the DX8 patch and await a reply now. Here is my message:

    To whom it may concern,

I’m writing to you on behalf of the Independence War community on i-war2.com.

One of the developers of the I-War games has stated in your forums, that a DirectX 8 patch for I-War 2 had been developed and finished, but it was never released.

He also wrote, that GOG has received a copy of this patch. I have two questions about that:

    1. Why hasn’t this patch been included into GOG’s release of the game?
    2. Would it be possible to receive a copy of this patch?

    Kind regards,

I hope we’ll get an answer. Of course, there’s still Atari we can nag about this. 🙂

It’s on sale again! It was in autumn – they just did it for winter, too. 🙂

From what i’ve read, Windows recognizes it as two devices – but that’s fine, I-War 2 can handle multiple joysticks.

Someone has to be the first to create a config, though. I can’t help with it, I’m not interested in the controller (I love my old Xbox 1 controller).

According to the guys over at kat.cr, the episode is fine. 0SEC tends to cut off the credits, though.

Due to a mistake by Comcast episodes 3 and 4 have been leaked. 2 is still missing, though – so I will not watch them yet.

Edit: Looks like someone got hold of episode 2, too. I’m outta here for a few hours! 😛

The first episode was a blast. Marvellous 3D effects, great actors and even some appearances from very familiar faces!

Get your meds and your mouthpiece, the ship is launching! <3
I asked my brother about it (he’s a tech wiz) and he says that Microsoft took it all out.
That is absolutely not true. Microsoft is still doing a lot of stuff, like tracking your location by default or sending your contacts all to the cloud if you want to use Cortana.

One of the most criticized features is WiFi Sense, which shares your Wi-Fi password with all of your contacts (thus, uploading it to the cloud – very secure).

The default settings send a lot of your data to Cortana. I can understand why, but I don’t want Cortana to know what I’m searching for or who the people I know are.

Even if you turn off all the privacy related settings you can find, there are still connections to various domains from Microsoft being made. Do you really know what they’re transferring there?

If they “took it all out” there would be no network traffic after turning all of the features off.
