7upManParticipant
No, right now my “collection” consists of a BSG Viper and an Enterprise from the 2001 show, as well as an unfinished model kit for a Babylon 5 Starfury. There are actually very few ships out there that get enough of my interest to warrant buying a model, but the Dreadnaught would actually be such a ship.
7upManParticipantI have to disagree on Captain America. Granted, I only watched the first movie (where the little guy turned into superhero), but it was so shockingly bad that I still mourn for the 10 EUR that I wasted for this shit (a friend had dragged me into cinema). I DO know, however, how Marvel keeps getting away with crap like this. Just read some of the reviews on IMDB, and you’ll notice that if it’s a comic adaption, some ppl immediately switch off their brain and go into full basement-kiddie mode.
I admit, I really liked Pacific Rim, which is a guilty pleasure as well, but it was still infinitely better than Captain America.
B5: I still have the Revell model kit for the Starfury waiting for me to be built (standing next to the Revell Perry Rhodan SOL generation ship ^^), and I’m using my black B5 mug for drinking tea. It’s just the best!
BSG: It has some, if the THE, best CGI of any SciFi shows out there. Also, I really like the gritty realism. IronDuke, I strongly recommend to find yourself a copy of the original mini-series (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battlestar-Galactica-Edward-James-Olmos/dp/B0001M1JFM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427470253&sr=8-1&keywords=battlestar+galactica+pilot). If you’re still not into it, then all hope is lost for you. 😉

7upManParticipant

Hallo Slax,

I recommend installing games not under “C:Program Files” but under “C:Games” or a similar directory. Otherwise, you can expect compatibility issues.

7upManParticipantThis look really good. Do you know if you can extract the 3D models from both I-War game(s)? It would be great if someone could post them as 3D-printable models here, so I can add a Dreadnaught to my collection.

7upManParticipantWindows 7 as well. I can run all games, although it may take some fiddling especially with older games. I think that Win 7 is the single best OS Microsoft has ever made, but if I ever need to change my OS, I won’t go for another Windows version (that would be Windows 10, which is not really a stand-alone OS but an OS-as-a-service, which is an absolute no-go for me).

7upManParticipantI recently finished NaissanceE and “Mind: Path to Thalamus” (do have a look at the YouTube Let’s Plays), which I can both recommend if you’re looking for something unconventional. Also, I’m playing The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 right now with my kids. It’s a lot of family-friendly fun!
Homeworld Remastered is a thing of beauty (I had actually stepped out of my way to pre-order the game), but the HW1 part is not there yet. Formations don’t work, fighters don’t use fuel anymore, rendering support frigates nearly useless and lots of little annoying stuff. But Gearbox is actively patching the game, so I do hope that the bugs will be fixed toon. Also, Steam Workshop is integrated in the game, so adding mods is child’s play. I definitely recommend giving the game a try.

7upManParticipantTo be honest, in I-War 1, I always wished for a LAN mode where more than one player could command the ship. I mean, let’s face it: flying the Dreadnaught is actually work enough to keep at the minimum 2 players busy. To assign repairs in the middle of a fight, flying crazy maneuvers and shooting forward and backwards… I would have welcomed a 2-player mod.
Well, the technology is available by now, so this should be possible to do in a game that aims to re-create I-War 1’s feeling.

7upManParticipantThank you. While I didn’t notice any of the spam (for some reason, Chrome can’t remember to stay logged in, and I’m too lazy to search for the password, so I just passively lurk around), I remember the old I-War forum as well as the Torn Stars forum being overrun. Therefore, I always welcome any measures that try to reign in that pest.
