ParticipantI can only echo what Chessking said about Limit Theory. The game is still in development and was on hold for about half a year (due to the dev’s personal issues), but if you like, you can have a look at LT’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/LimitTheory/videos
The game is gorgeous, so say the least, and since *everything* there is procedurally generated (except sounds and music), the game’s environments are not only varied, but the game is also very small (at the time of the last update it was around 170 MB, IIRC).
Anyway, in LT’s forums (http://forums.ltheory.com/index.php) you can find much more information, especially if you look for Josh Parnell’s posts. Also, in case you are interested, here is the original Kickstarter for LT: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/joshparnell/limit-theory-an-infinite-procedural-space-game

ParticipantTo be honest, I’d like to meet up with someone who I can play with. I have largely no idea what I’m doing there and would like to be learning by doing. Reading manuals is only so much fun. Right now, I know how to capsule jump, that’s basically it. I have yet to learn how to attack anyone and anything.

ParticipantWell, this new round lasts for another one and a half hours, so I’m logging off for now. Can you tell me where to head now? Currently, as mentioned, I’m on my way to The Gravedigger. That name sounds dangerous. Should I stay away from that system?

ParticipantAw, man, I’m so sorry. I just arrived in Firefrost continuing on to Gravedigger. Is there anything I can do?

ParticipantI like this a lot. The ship looks straight out of the I-War universe, complete with undockable head section and all. Would really like to fly this beast myself!
P.S.: It was fun to see you in the Limit Theory forum! 🙂

ParticipantJust signed on for the first time, I’m an MCA, jumping to Balley’s World. It says the jump will take 5 moves. How do I end my move? Please help!

Here is my list of spacegames that bring back memories besides I-War 2:Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, Homeworld 1 and 2, Tachyon: The Fringe, Privateer 2: The Darkening. and to a lesser extent Starlancer.
I am keeping an eye out for Enemy Starfighter since the visuals in that game really appeal to me.[/quote]Yes, I agree that Nexus: The Jupiter Incident and Homeworld 1 + 2 were visual and story-wise masterpieces. That was the time when story and presentation did count for something. I’d like to add Freelancer to the list, which I think is worth mentioning as well.
Anyway, what I always wanted to ask: Oolite does not have Newtonian physics?
