ParticipantThis was my programming project for the month of April. What I accomplished:
Rewriting the program after It was deleted along with the rest of my operating system.
That is pretty much all. In the process, I did improve some things:
Flight assist is better than ever, using dot product.
Fullscreen looks better, and automatically adjusts to the users screen size.
I have worked more on the shooting mechanics.
If I need the keyCode of a key, I can find out with the press of a button. Much better then editing the code and restarting the program.
I can zoom in and out.My progress thus far in May is coming right up in a different thread, titled “Dynamic Keybinder”.

ParticipantYes, I have a lot more to learn. I couldn’t remember how to properly spell those words, so I used Google translate. I don’t think I will do that again. 😆

ParticipantIt makes sense that you are a pirate in the beginning, but later on it should not be as necessary. It would be easy to implement bounty hunting missions and paid missions by the League into the game, as well. Everything the League gives you benefits them as well, so why can’t they pay you more? Why shouldn’t they give their best pilot the best ship and weapons they have? Even the ability to buy technology from them using… whatever you get when you recycle cargo, I cannot remember what it is called… would decrease the need for piracy, while benefiting the League and the player.
They do give you the patcom and corvette later in the game, but you still rely on piracy to get some decent weapons and systems on the thing.
ParticipantIch bin lernen Deutsche. It is really easy for me, much easier than Italian. IronDuke has posted previously that he is learning German as well. A better question is does anyone here not speak German? 😛
Jawohl!
Thanks! Now I know a new way to say yes in German. I have only been taught “Ja”.

ParticipantTo me, the benefit of having T-fighters is the ability to fire several different types of weapons at once, and target several ships independently. On the advanced patcom and heavy corvette, they can even turn and fire backwards, like in I-War 1. On the other hand, I like a variety of weapons. On the Tug especially, with two T-fighters equipped, the fighters might have more firepower then you do when they are detached. I like to have my neutron PBCs, my cutting beam, my gatling cannons, and some seekers and remote missiles. Did you know, the heavy corvette can mount six gatling cannons?

ParticipantYeah, I know. One of the problems in the game is the inability to make a moral living. Even after you join the league, and become the most important character in the rebellion, you rely on pirating independent or non-threatening freighters for a living. On the other hand, I don’t suppose NSO Laplace will miss a couple of mega-freighters, right?
I must admit, I have witnessed a few Marauder attacks myself. Sometimes, I wipe out the marauders, and then force the freighters to pay me with more that a pod of water bottles, before they leave. 😛
