    While working on some boxes for MajorTom, it suddenly occured to me why turrets disappear beyond a certain distance. Forgive me if this is already common knowledge, since once you know the answer it seems so obvious.

    Turrets disappear when the distance to the turret reaches the distance to switch to the next LOD model. Since turret avatars aren’t setup like normal avatars (but they could be if you want), there is no second or third LOD model to switch to. So even though the sim still exists, and has an avatar, the avatar scene is telling flux “At this LOD, the avatar looks like – Nothing!

    If you don’t want the turret avatars to disappear, just set up the turret avatar file like a normal avatar.
