the two seat design is interesting, although I would have put one in front of the other like an apache or something. maybe for the Storm Petrel MK2 :silly:

5. May 2015 at 21:50 #17539ChesskingParticipantI noticed the two-seat design to. I didn’t think the ship had room for two crew members.

Where do you guys keep finding all this stuff? ๐ That website doesn’t look like it’ll be there forever, I will mirror it here.
If the E-Mail on that page would still work, I could ask the author about the high-res files that are mentioned…

7. May 2015 at 1:40 #17576ChesskingParticipantWould you have use for some other images? The ones I am talking about are included in the demo of EOC. One is a sketch of the T-fighter, another is a cross-section of a Puffin-class Tug.

7. May 2015 at 2:41 #17579adminKeymasterWhen they’re already in the two demos listed here, there’s no need to uploaded them again.
Your post made me install these two again and I discovered an amazing thing! The Online Beta contains a little bit of development material.
There are instructions on how to create the bright fonts from the game in Photoshop and there are even the source .psd files for the GUI of the game in there! That is awesome. It looks like when they put the Beta out they forgot to remove the source files. These things are missing in the CD demo that came later.
This means I may be able to give this website a little more I-War touch ๐

The Priceline Negotiator
30. May 2015 at 12:19 #17906RichardSkinnerParticipantthis is an oldie but a goodie
does anyone remember being out and about and some NPC comments on how nice your ship is and then challenges you to a race? Is there anything significant to that?
I have tired following that ship, blowing it up, formating with it… it doesnt seems to do anything, no reward, nothing.
just curious if anyone got any other results form that encounter.

2. June 2015 at 0:40 #17909IronDukeParticipantI’ve had that happen, almost always when your ship’s “threat” level, specified in the ini files of the ship and its various subsystems, is a high number or you’re in the patcom. As far as I can tell, it’s just in the game for atmosphere. After the other guy takes off for a randomly designated location, the script running whatever he’s doing ends, so nothing really happens. I just ignore them now.
BTW, I forgot to mention that on my storm petrel, I gave light hardpoints the ability to carry regular PBCs. The PBC did get a lot weaker, because more were carried and on lighter ships, but it did enable the storm petrel to take on anything up to destroyer size. It also let you have greater firepower on the comsec, because quad lite PBCs really did get weakened in my weapons rebalance.–IronDuke

Very little about the game is not known to me. Any questions you got, throw them at me. ๐2. June 2015 at 8:18 #17911ChesskingParticipantI’ve never had that happen to me as fr as I remember. But you guys have played a lot more than I have. I think it would be interesting if racing was an option for earning money in the game.

25. March 2016 at 19:08 #18740MomawParticipantI still have the high rez (3840×3072) images from Storm Petrel if anybody is dying to have them. Nothing different than the web-sized images that were already linked, but suitable for printing out.
Making Storm Petrel a side by side 2-seater just seemed logical given the size of the ship. When you put it side by side against the tugs and frigates, it’s clear that this is a rather substantial craft.

Thanks to Momaw for these renders! They look amazing in high-res. I will update your gallery pack with the files soon. ๐

26. March 2016 at 8:44 #18750IronDukeParticipantYep, they work great now. :cheer: Haven’t the slightest idea what to do with them, as they’ll just take up harddrive space, but… WHO CARES?!

March 2016 at 9:48 #18752ChesskingParticipantI don’t have the programs required to open the high-res version, but I just realized that the original images could make a very interesting screensaver… a screensaver outlining all the technical aspects of my favorite spaceship.
Are you getting the I-War itch IronDuke? Summer is coming, and summer reminds me of I-War 2. I will probably find myself in an intense Instant Action match pretty soon.
