please help – wolfs lair mission….

I am at the wolfs lair mission where you have to wait in the “junk” way point for a maurader freighter to appear that way you can follow it to there base. The freighter shows up and im told to get near it, but even if i ram the damn thing the freighter does not move. I have tried formate, approach autots etc.. nothing.. and I cant “dock” with the freighter so what is the problem?
