I’ve been encountering random CTD problems since changing from a GforceFX 5200 to a Radeon 9000, the CTD happens at random intervals between 1 minute and 10 minutes into a single player game, though instant action tends to last abit longer before crashing, I’ve tried flying around and staying still and it happens in both cases and I even once had the problem happen in the main menu
I’ve removed all previous Gforce drivers, installed and reinstalled my Radeon drivers to make sure that it wasn’t a driver issue, i’ve reinstalled the game 10 times trying both pre-patch and post-patch versions of the game, and the problem continues no matter my graphical option choices.
I’ve even tried running the game with no sound and in windowed mode and windowed mode just seems to speed up the crash time.I’ve checked the Flux.ini and Flux.log to see if there was any obvious problems being encountered but the only thing I found odd was a blank entry under “Drivers” in the flux.ini and a blank entry after “VideoMemory” (Tried entering how much I have available and notcied no change), which then corrected itself as soon as I ran the game in windowed mode, and the Flux.log stopped after validating all the driver options and started to render textures (About to try the w_buffer change and planet image changes after I post this)
The registry entrys are fine, and i’ve even tried moving the movies file to my EoC file amending flux.ini to read from my EoC directory incase it was a CD reading issue.
Anyone else encountered this problem with a Radeon card? i’ve tried every single solution posted on 4 differant forums which seemed to work for the peolpe with those problems but it’s been no use in this case (I’m almost 100% sure it’s a radeon problem as the game ran fine on my system untill I changed cards and tried playing)
