Nostromo Joystick

I have a Nostromo joystick that looks pretty much the same as a playstation controller. I’ve gotten used to it as it seems to handle all of the main flight and combat commands needed. The only problem seems to be that I can’t perform any right or left lateral thrusts with it. If I want to do that, I have to quickly swap to the keyboard, which ends up being a major mission in itself.

Does anyone here have a similar controller, or has a solution to the problem?
