I was looking through some of my old EoC downloads and I came across two image file converters:

    FTU2PCX.EXE
    and
    LBM2PCX.EXE

I downloaded them a long time ago but never used them. I just started playing with them and, WOW! Now I can see what all those images look like without trying to screw around renaming files to IFF, or trying to open as RAW and guessing the sizes. They’ll even unpack all the mip maps.

I just wanted to recommend them to anybody interested in looking at the EoC images, since I’ve never heard them mentioned in the forums.

    Here are some amusing samples:

FTUs converted to PCX, then saved as jpegs to show here.

So, now to my question. Does anyone know what the various LBM, FTU and FTC formats are for? I see the FTUs contain the mipmapped textures for things like avatars, but what are the FTCs for? And my avatar model textures turned into LBMs when they were converted, why is that? If I turn on the mipmap option on the converter will it give me FTUs? I’ll have to try that and see what happens.
