    Rebels vs. Imp bots Game:

    Story:

Following your command ship, you exit Hyperspace in a strange sector and discover a huge station that reads “Academy on your sensors. It is heavily protected by 3 mushroom shaped “Comsat Gunstars positioned around it. You also see debris of another station that looks like it was once a twin of the Academy. It too is orbited by a, fortunately inoperative, Gunstar, so it may be useful as cover for you. As you near the Academy you notice a strange object called “Cave and enter a weird red cloud that makes your sensors almost indistinguishable. Suddenly you are attacked by a pair of imperial fighters that read “Trainer and “Rookie on your sensors.

You realize: This is a Sith training base for elite imperial fighter pilots. The red cloud is part of the training facility. It is an area of extremely high, dark force intensity, used to train pilots to use the dark force for targeting rebel ships.

Hurry! You only have a limited time to destroy the academy and all the gunstars; otherwise you will succumb to the intense evil radiation of the dark force and become a Sith rookie!

    Game Type:
    Players against Bots
    1 – 6 Players

    Scoring, Rules, Tactics :
Game length is per default 30 min and the point limit to win the game is 150 points.
If your team has less than 150 points at the set time limit you loose the game.
If the Imps obtain more than 150 Points (frags) at any time you loose the game too.

    Frag Points:
    “Academy Base 150 Pts.
    “Comsat Gunstars 20 Pts.
    “Trainer 2 Pts.
    “Rookie 1 Pts.
    “Def Comsat Gunstar 0 Pts.

    Rebel Command Ship 100 pts

    Details:

All Players will spawn as Rebels upon entering the map.
For each player that is spawned a pair of Imp bots (a Rookie and a Trainer) is also spawned.
When a player is shot down 2 more bots are spawned.
Every time a player approaches the Academy within 12 km, an additional pair of bots will launch to protect it .
If you’ve completely cleared the area of Trainers and Rookies, one or two patrols (dependent on the number of players) will be spawned at 2 to 3 minute intervals (randomly) even if you don’t get near the station!

    Tactics and Notes:

Each player that spawns should try to take out as many bots as possible. Then, use your base “Command Ship to reload weapons and repair yourself by docking to it, before attacking the Academy.
(You can reload weapons at any time by docking to your base.)

The Imp bots will prioritize the attack on bombers and CUVs. Bombers have no cover so fighter support is vitally important to the success of the mission.
Remember, if you pilot a CUV or bomber, the Imps get 5 points per frag!

The CUV can deploy up 3 miniature Gunstars type 8ty8. They are helpful against the enemy fighters and to protect your Command Ship. However, it’s not a good idea to deploy them in the Academy’s range of fire or close to a Comsat Gunstar. They are Antimatter powered and when they explode they probably will destroy things, (like your teammates)
If there are too many Trainers and Rookies for you to handle head to your Command Ship immediately after you have spawned and dogfight there. Your base will fire on the bots, distract them and even eliminate a few for you.

You can hide in the Cave or in the Tunnel Asteroid and call for help if you are surrounded by bots. Be careful when you peek outside. If you are in the CUV ship, don’t forget: you’ve got Gunstars. It’s a good idea to place an 8ty8 Gunstar near the entrance (about 5km away) of the cave to protect your teammates if they need to take cover there.

    Client Settings
Identical to other games (see assault game), however there is no team selection option.

    Server Settings:
Game length is per default 30 min and the point limit to win the game is 150 points. You can set either value higher (but not lower) in the server settings. In this game the number of bots you set, is the no. of bots per player. The highest possible bot count on the map is 12.

Internet Games with more than 5 or 6 players can exhibit a bit of lag when the maximum number (12) of bots are on the map, unless you have a very powerful server and high connection bandwidth.

    Note for the dev team:
The current dev version DL does not have the full bomber and CUV functionality. It will be updated with the next version. There is a scoring bug that will also be fixed in the next version: Rebels get points for every Imperial object destroyed (even if it is destroyed by freindly fire)
