This is amazing! Expect new people coming to us soon! π
I don’t think it’s a coincidence that they release this now – when we just did a major overhaul of the website and have driven more and more people here in the last months π

17. May 2015 at 10:55 #17790ChesskingParticipantAck! Did you have to post this right before my bedtime?
I-War 2 is making a comeback! It is still the best space sim!
Thanks Shmatzler for your hard work with the website!
P.S. If I make some headway with my 2-D game, it should attract many intelligent gamers interested in programming. I’d better get to work!

17. May 2015 at 13:49 #17793adminKeymasterI just bought it now.
It’s alright – they were a bit sloppy in copying the GOG version (a registry key is missing, some useless GOG stuff is still in there and the logo looks like garbage), but you can play online after creating a shortcut and it works just like the GOG version does. Better than most developers who release unpatched games on Steam! π

Crap, more people to the site? that means I need to clean up my act… get a hair cut, press my shirt. We’ll need more member titles to tell the difference between the old old schoolers and the new newbies :silly:

Is the game asking you to put the CD in when you first start it?
The button to start Singleplayer is usually missing when it can’t find a CD drive.

19. May 2015 at 4:11 #17808adminKeymasterYes, there is. You can install WinCDEmu from here:
This creates a virtual CD drive and should be enough for the game to run. π If it doesn’t, load any ISO file into WinCDEmu, for example this one:
http://www.slackware.com/~alien/slackboot/mini/14.1/slackware_i486-14.1-mini-install.iso
If you are on Windows 8 or 10, you don’t even need additional programs, you can load the ISO directly in Windows and that gives you a virtual CD drive π

19. May 2015 at 5:20 #17813adminKeymasterWe have so many of them, I can’t really pick one.
But I suggest you should try out the biggest ones – Buda5 and Torn Stars π
And maybe you should start the game with Custom Jafs and the Location Finder – they make the game way more fun:

19. May 2015 at 15:07 #178187upManParticipantTo be honest, I consider Custom Jafs and the Location finder a necessity rather than just a mod. Besides, BUDA and Torn Stars are more like Total Conversions, so they don#t necessarily fall into the category Mowgli might have had in mind.
19. May 2015 at 16:14 #17821Mowgli101ParticipantThat’s wicked il have a look when I came home from working away, I had no idea there was total conversions…. Are they called briny action of the original story or a new story and background all together?
Cheers
Gunnra
19. May 2015 at 17:29 #178237upManParticipantWell, BUDA is changing I-War to Babylon 5 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_5), while Torn Stars is its own universe, not unlike the I-War 2 one. So yes, those 2 TCs have a completely background.
19. May 2015 at 20:46 #17834RichardSkinnerParticipantIt’s interesting how there was on average 20 some odd guests in the site at any given point, now since the steam release its up over 300!
Maybe it could eventually get the ball rolling on a remastering, like they did with Homeworld and Halo :woohoo:
