corrupt saves ?

the first time I ran Torn star
when opening the reputation pannel I had a whole range of factions listed there
now when I open it I view a few of them (between 1 to 3)
is this normal behavior ?

also, the first time I played ships will turn deep blue when I hired them (faction is xxxx like marauders of original game)

now they are yellow like every contact (although they still obey & have the faction “xxxx”)
is this also normal behavior ?

I think not but I’m not sure
I tried reinstalling Torn Stars with no success
next step I will uninstall all EoC & restart over

[b]edit: after rerunning the game again I found out that
somehow my latest savegames were corrupted[/b]

so the question is : is it safe to save in space instead of stations ?
