Act 3 Mission 4 – Capture the Accelerator

After I reach the L-Point and beat the few incoming Marauders, I have to take down the LDA field inside the jump accelerator, but I’ve found it impossible.
I get inside the “cilinder” and try to sub-target the field generators, but the jump accelerator has no sub-targets and the only main targets are the L-Point, two friend fighters, Lucrecia’s Base and the Jump Accelerator. What do I have to do to avoid the convoy to crash onto the LDA?
Do I need a special weapon? Or I’m missing some passage so that I can’t get my “job” well done?
