Help, I suck!!

I am stuck at the joining forces mission (i think thats how its called). Its the one in which I assault a marauder base with the help from some Stepsons ships.

Now… I keep gettind destroyed again and again!! The worst is the fact that IWar wont let you save unless you are on your base!! The fact is that its VERY BORING to everytime you die have to travel to Stepsons Meeting… hear whole conversation, long travel to Marauders Base, etc… if at least it was possible to save anyway… I would save just a bit before arriving at the Marauders Base…
