EOC – Crashes to desktop when starting a game

Just bought I-War 2 today, installed it, patched it to 14.6, and whenever i try to start a game (be it single player campaign, instant action or a MP game), i see the loading bar for just a fragment of a second before it crashes with an error message about loader.exe and dx7graph.dll. Intro videos and Main Menu work fine, but it’s junked past them.
Here’s my flux log, just in case, but it hasn’t helped me finding the cause.
And before you say it, i did use the search function :p, but none of the results helped me.

Quick HW specs, if needed:
Athlon XP2400+
512 Ram DDR
Radeon 9600 Pro on Omega drivers 3.8 (the one based on Catalyst 6.3)
MB: ECS K7S5AL
Sound: Terratec Aureon 5.1 Fun
Windows XP SP2 (French, and my copy of IW2 is also in french)

Please help me, i don’t want this game already collecting dust the day i buy it 🙁
